Read-Only API Keys — Why We Never Touch Your Funds

Solaria World Team

Permission Levels Matter

When you connect an exchange to Solaria Control, you create an API key. Exchanges offer different permission levels: read-only, spot trading, futures, withdrawals. We strongly recommend — and by default only request — read-only access.

What Read-Only Means

With read-only keys, we can fetch your balances, order history, and positions. We can display your portfolio, track performance, and power analytics. We cannot place trades, move funds, or withdraw.

Why It Matters

Even with the strongest security, read-only keys limit the impact of any breach. An attacker might see your holdings but could never transfer or sell them. It is defence in depth.

When You Might Need More

If you choose to trade through Solaria Control (future feature), you would create a separate key with trading permissions. Until then, read-only is the safest choice.
